PhD student position in Applied Analysis (Inverse Problems) at the University of Klagenfurt within a project of the Austrian Science Fund FWF with focus on Accelerated regularization methods for inverse problems

  • duration: 3 years
  • starting date: October, 2025
  • employment for 30 hours per week
  • monthly gross salary: about EUR 2700, paid 14 times per year

We offer a lifely and inspiring research atmosphere at the Institute of Mathematics. We are looking for a candidate with master degree in Mathematics, having a strong back- ground in at least two of the following fields: continuous optimization, functional analysis, and numerical analysis. Knowledge from convex analysis and/or inverse problems would be a plus. The university of Klagenfurt is seeking to increase the proportion of female academic staff, and therefore specifically invites qualified women to apply. If an applicant has not received the Master’s degree by the application deadline, the applicant should provide a declaration, written either by a supervising professor or by the candidate themself, on the feasibility of finishing the Master’s by September 12, 2025 at the latest.
