On exponential diophantine equations

The basis of this talk is the book ``Exponential Diophantine Equations'' by T. N. Shorey and R. Tijdeman, published in 1986 (Cambridge University Press). We plan to give a survey of some progress in the last 15 years. Some emphasis will be put on the equations $ax^n-by^n=c$, the Ljunggren-Nagell equation $(x^n-1)/(x-1)=y^q$ and Catalan's equation.
